Nice Restaurant The restaurant was much bigger than I expected. Very fancy inside. The fish and chips tasted nice, in generous portions. A genuinely big fish fillet inside the batter. The shepherd's pie was surprisingly small. It was quite salty therefore I didn't use the provided gravy. You need to order a starter or dessert or both in case you insist to order their shepherd's pie. The staff were nice and attentive. Clean and tidy environment. I will return to try other items on the menu.

I had dinner here a week ago today, a Saturday night, we had a Christmas gift voucher to spend. And thankfully we didn’t pay for this dinner. I ordered the duck salad to start. The flavours were nice but the duck was extremely dry. I then had the sirloin steak with prepper corn sauce, creamed spinach and Parmesan and truffle chips. The steak itself was okay didn’t taste great, however the peppercorn sauce was disgusting it literally tasted of fish. The creamed spinach had some breadcrumbs on top and wasn’t baked for long enough as everything was still raw tasting. My chips were good! Thankfully I didn’t pay anything towards this meal and the remaking balance my partner paid. However it was so disappointing to say the least.

The food was lovely, especially the delicious Ivy Chocolate Bombe pudding. The waiters service was perfect. The waitress on the other hand seemed cold and put out. That said, I appreciate people have bad days and this would not stop me returning. The atmosphere was pleasant, the majority of service was very good and the food was lovely.

Had a magical lunch at the Ivy. Delicious food, exceptionally excellent service. Thank you so much to Marvin for making my 6 year old daughter's birthday extra special.

As a regular diner in The Ivy, I appreciate the reliability of the food. I typically eat at The Ivy 10-20 times a year and although the food was good, the visit overall fell slightly below expectations. Our party had the 1917 set menu which was good value for money - the quality of the food was excellent. However, the service was a bit lacking - our main courses were slow to arrive, as was the bill when requested, even when we flagged there was a train to catch. It was a meal celebrating a guest’s birthday which we mentioned at the start, and there was no acknowledgment of this. We had to ask for water to be refilled and cutlery was given to the wrong person/they forgot who had ordered what at times. Overall, I would recommend the set menu, but compared to other branches of The Ivy the service was lacking. The front of house staff on entrance were friendly, but inside the restaurant, the service didn’t quite match this. More attentive service would have made this a 5* visit. Still giving 4* because of the food and I appreciate it was half term and so the restaurant was busy.

We came for afternoon tea for my daughter & daughter in laws birthdays. Whilst the afternoon tea was ok it was not as good as last year’s experience/food. One of the afternoon teas was dairy free, the scones were a third of the size of the normal ones and came with coconut yoghurt (why not vegan cream?), she had two choc brownies which were very nice, a second small dish of coconut yogurt with coconut flakes and a dish of mixed berries - most of which were still frozen; and this was £2 more than the cost of a normal afternoon but didn’t look as good. They were both given a ‘celebration’ treat for their birthdays which wa nice but one had a giant round eclair with strawberries, the other was given another dish of frozen fruit with a candle in it - a chocolate brownie would have been more appropriate. When I made the booking, about three weeks prior to our visit today, they said they catered for dairy free dietary needs but whilst there today I felt my daughter in-law had the short straw. Such a shame as we have previously had great experiences here but I’m reluctant to go back.

Food and service were great from doorman to reception to table service. My wife enjoyed the chocolate martinis which were similar to a mudslide.

The starter (bang bang chicken) was honestly one of the best things I have ever eaten! Please, please please, make it into a main! We had shepards pie for main, and it was nice, but nothing on the bang bang chicken. I am kicking off a star due to my other favourite menu item - steak tartare - disappearing off the menu.

My husband and I went for lunch here yesterday, celebrating out Anniversary. It was a fantastic experience. We came for lunch. The service from Marvin was impeccable. He was attentive, polite and very helpful. The food was delicious. The decor was also beautiful. So, thank you to all the staff at the Ivy. We'll done.

Another style over substance place in Cambs, with too much on the menu for any of it to be quality. Pretty surroundings, but not good enough to return, as the food is overpriced and mediocre.

This place never disappoints. Good menu, tasty dishes, and reasonably priced. The service has always been good in our experience, and the place has a really nice vibe.

Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. The food here is always top quality and arrives in good time. Well worth a visit for a civilised, quality meal. Having eaten here a few times, the Creme Brulee is the dessert to have. Sweet but just the right size, fresh and delicious. Highly reccomend!

Very welcoming and energetic service, attentive and cared about your experience. The atmosphere is formal yet casual at the same time, and it’s quiet. I ordered the English Breakfast which overall was great, however the toast was as hard as a rock and that was disappointing considering this is at The Ivy. Otherwise everything else was great! I would consider visiting again.

Hi I attended you Ivy Cambridge with my partner on Friday 31st January 2025…. Firstly the food and staff were excellent, however the access wasn’t….. I am a wheelchair user and cannot walk at all, upon attending the restaurant my partner walked up two steps to let you know i had arrived as i was told there was a side access…. However i had to push I over 200m over cobbles , watching the floor to make sure my wheelchair didn’t hit any divots and then around the back , past the rubbish and through the trades entrance …. This is disgraceful in 2025 , a simple 2 m folding suitcase ramp that is easily moved and very lightweight could have prevented all this and i could have just pushed up the ramp and into your restaurant….. however i felt embarrassed and like a second class citizen…. This really needs to be addressed … the ramps are no more than £100…..

We visited twice in 2024, but somehow didn't get around to write a review about it. It is a deceptively large restaurant once passed the small and unassuming entrance in the heart of Cambridge. The decor is warm and inviting, and the service was friendly and caring. The set lunches, which we had on both occasions, were amazingly good value, and the food was tasty, good portions, and beautiful presented. Highly recommended when visiting Cambridge
